The Shared Toilets Charter
Because what's left after me is what the next person finds, I commit to:
- 1Leaving the place as clean as I found it.
- 2Flushing and checking everything is gone.
- 3Wiping the seat if I splashed.
- 4Lowering the seat and lid when leaving.
- 5Washing my hands, actually, not just wetting them.
- 6Reporting if something is missing (paper, soap, damage).
- 7Respecting others' needs (kids, pregnant people, accessibility).
I know toilets are not just a service — they are a common good.
Why this Charter?
We tend to think public toilet cleanliness is the venue's responsibility. That's 50% true. The other 50% is us, the users. No one wants to lecture — but no one wants to walk into a toilet left in an impossible state just because someone didn't take 30 seconds to lower the seat either.
This Charter isn't a moral lesson. It's a pact between us. Seven simple commitments that change the experience for the person right after you.
