Restaurant staff — The break that protects the whole service

Your 3 minutes in the toilet decide the health of 80 customers tonight.

Context

You're the last line of defense between the toilet and the sauce. In the kitchen, we talk HACCP — here, REAL service life. 3 mins, 7 steps, and you're back to the pass clean.

The gesture: Remove apron before entering toilets. Always. Your apron must NEVER touch the seat.

Avoid: The "I'm in a rush, I keep it". Apron becomes a direct vector toilet → kitchen. HACCP basic.

Bowl + paper — PLOUF illustration
02

Bowl + paper

The gesture: Seat down if found that way. Paper on seat if seat is wet. Speed + cleanliness.

Avoid: The squat "don't touch". You tense up, return to service with a knotted back. Not pro.

No phone — PLOUF illustration
03

No phone

The gesture: Phone stays in the kitchen or pocket. In the toilet, focus 90 secs max. Service continues without you.

Avoid: The Insta glance = 8 mins of absence without seeing it. Your floor manager waits.

04

Clean wipe

The gesture: Folded paper, clean jet. If the bowl has a trace, wipe it. You know how annoying it is when someone leaves the next to deal with it.

Avoid: The clog: no big wads. You clog mid-service, your night collapses.

Flush + double check — PLOUF illustration
05

Flush + double check

The gesture: Flush. Look. If not clean, double flush. The dining room uses this toilet in 12 mins.

Avoid: The "it's fine" oversight. For you maybe. The customer who enters next is the one eating your dish in 30 mins.

Seat + door — PLOUF illustration
06

Seat + door

The gesture: Lower. Exit. Open the door with a tissue if possible. You return to the kitchen, touching dozens of surfaces in a minute.

Avoid: The full-hand grab then dish direct. Direct vector. The customer eats your germs.

Hands — HACCP protocol

The gesture: Hot water. Soap. 60 SECONDS (double the general public). Front, back, between fingers, nails, wrists. Disposable paper dry. Back to kitchen.

Avoid: Drying on the clean apron. Your apron isn't a towel — it becomes a new vector if you use it that way.

💡 Tip: If soap is missing or the fountain is broken — major health risk. You MUST report to the manager before next service.
